BrickLimit

DESCRIPTION: BrickLimit is a simple 'brick-wall' limiter, developped in Cabbage by Iain McCurdy (2016). A small delay is used; this acts as a look-ahead feature. This is an implementation as a blue effect, and some values are slightly adapted for use within blue. CONTROLLERS: ON/OFF - bypass Threshold - dB threshold below above which signals will be aggressively limited Smoothing - response of the amplitude follower. Higher values result in a slower, but possibly smoother, response Delay - delay applied to the input sound before it is limited (the tracked signal is always undelayed) This can be useful for compensating for a limiter than is not responding fast enough to sudden dynamic transients Gain - Make up gain. Useful for compensating for gain loss. --- version 1.02, July 2020 - added BSB information comments version 1.01, May 2020 - added comments on controllers version 1.0, April 2020 - initial version by Menno Knevel. Original code largely developped in Cabbage by Iain McCurdy (2016)

BasicLimit

DESCRIPTION: The BasicLimit uses the 'limit' opcode- a quick and easy way to prevent signals from becoming too huge and destroy ears and/or speakers. Some distortion is produced when signals are huge and the effect is processing them, and if not wanted, try a different setting by moving the Mixer fader to a lower setting, or adjust the + and - of the incoming signal in BasicLimit. CONTROLLERS: ON/OFF - bypass + signal - limits the positive portion of the incoming signal 0 - 1 - signal - limits the negative portion of the incoming signal -1 - 0 --- version 1.02, July 2020 - added BSB information comments version 1.01, May 2020 - added comments on controllers version 1, April 2020 - initial version by Menno Knevel

JSFX Peak-1 Limiter

The opcode jsfx is not part of the official Csound ditribution but can be found here: https://github.com/csound-plugins/csound-plugins (The Blue effect is grey to reflect the status) Please build the plugins yourself in order to use this effect! This plugin uses an effect from LOSER, that can be found in the REAPER effects library (SP1LimiterJS). Load this effect in order to use the limiter. DESCRIPTION: simple limiter CONTROLLERS: ON/OFF - bypass File Selector - select loser/SP1LimiterJS effect from Reaper directory Treshold - treshold in dB, -20 to 0 --- version 1.02, July 2020 - added BSB information comments version 1.01, May 2020 - added comments on controllers version 1.0, Octobre 2019 - initial version by Menno Knevel

ladspa ZaMaximX2

a wrapper of ladspa plugin 1515018290 called ZaMaximX2, created by Damien Zammit. Copyright: GPL v2+. plugin has stereo inputs, stereo outputs. The dssi opcodes are wrapping the ladspa plugin so it can be used as an effect in Blue. The PATH for the ladspa plugins on my Linux systemm is /usr/lib/ladspa. Be sure to set the right PATH if you run OSX or Windows. DESCRIPTION: this acts as a brickwall limiter for mastering in its default state, but can also be tweaked to raise the average level as a stereo maximizer without ever clipping. Sounds musical even with rough treatment. (Based on DSP found in a DAFX?02 paper). CONTROLLERS: ON/OFF - bypass File Selector - set path for ZaMaximX2-ladspa.so Release - The longer the release time, the less low frequency distortions Output Ceiling - the limit in dB Treshold - sets the lowest decibel level that will be allowed through --- version 1.02, July 2020 - added BSB information comments version 1.01, May 2020 - added comments on controllers version 1.0, June 2019 - initial version by Menno Knevel

ladspa fastLookaheadLimiter

a wrapper of ladspa plugin 1913 called Fast Lookahead limiter, created by Steve Harris. Licensed under GPL. plugin has stereo inputs, stereo output. The dssi opcodes are wrapping the ladspa plugin so it can be used as an effect in Blue. The PATH for the ladspa plugins on my Linux systemm is /usr/lib/ladspa. Be sure to set the right PATH if you run OSX or Windows. DESCRIPTION: This is a limiter with an attack time of 5ms. It adds just over 5ms of lantecy to the input signal, but it guatantees that there will be no signals over the limit, and tries to get the minimum ammount of distortion. Input gain (dB) CONTROLLERS: ON/OFF - bypass File Selector - set path for fast_lookahead_limiter_1913.so Input gain - adjust input gain Limit - limits the signal, in dB Release Time - The longer the release time, the less low frequency distortions --- version 1.02, July 2020 - added BSB information comments version 1.01, May 2020 - added comments on controllers version 1.0, June 2019 - initial version by Menno Knevel

Compressor-X

This compressor introduces a look-ahead delay of 0.05s which you should compensate for with an artificially added delay to all the tracks that dont have compression on. Based around compress opcode. Switchable peak/RMS compression (if you can tell the difference).
